World-wide Vanadium production statistics

Published by Vanitec

Vanitec, the Vanadium International Technical Committee, recently published Vanadium production statistics for the years 2011 – 2013. The data have been compiled by Vanitec through regular inquiries amongst vanadium producers and consist of actual production numbers as reported, complemented with estimates in those cases where no information was made available.

Data on world-wide consumption of Vanadium included in the statistics are based on estimates by Vanitec. Apart from world-totals, data are also reported per region, in compliance with antitrust guidelines.

As can be seen from the data below, overall supply and demand of Vanadium metal over the past three years has been roughly in balance. World-wide consumption of Vanadium has been growing at a rate of approximately 5% per year.

Vanitec is a technical and scientific committee, which brings together representatives of companies and organisations involved in the mining, processing, manufacture, research and use of vanadium and vanadium-containing products.

The objective of Vanitec is to promote the use of vanadium bearing materials and thereby to increase the consumption of vanadium across the range of steel, titanium and chemical applications. Vanitec strives to provide those with a vested interest in Vanadium – users, educators, students, producers – convenient access to research, events, resources and publications regarding Vanadium.
